South Doc Services works with a number of sites across Birmingham to provide a community-based, safe and effective initiation, stabilisation, monitoring, dosing and prescribing of oral anticoagulants management service. This is available for your patients who are predominantly stable, non-complex, and aged 16 or over.
Who would benefit from this service?
- Patients with a high risk of getting clots
- Patients with chances of developing severe conditions such as strokes and heart attacks
- Patients diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism
Who can access this service?
Access to the service is via GP referral through the NHS e-Referral Services (eRS), or you can email the referral form to the email below. The sites at which the service operates change periodically but currently include the following:
- West Heath Medical Centre
- River Brook Medical Centre
- Harborne Medical Practice
- Garretts Green Lane Surgery
- Kingsfield Medical Centre
